The Department of Industry, Ecological Transition, and Digital Business has launched a pioneering register of energy communities, in which all entities established under this legal framework must be registered. Thanks to this information, the regional government will be able to adjust its aid and support measures to the reality of these communities.
The register complies with Regional Order 64/2022, which establishes measures to promote energy communities in Navarre. Registration must be done through the regional government’s online portal (link a:https://www.navarra.es/es/tramites/on/-/line/registro-publico-de-comunidades-energeticas ). The entity must include certain information, such as its name, registered office, contact details, and the number of people and entities belonging to the energy community. This information must be updated annually by June 30.
This registry will provide a more in-depth understanding of the reality and development of these entities in our community in order to adapt the aid and measures that the Government of Navarre will implement to promote them. It is currently estimated that there are around 40 energy communities already established in Navarre.
To facilitate these procedures, interested entities can visit the various offices that the Navarra Community Transformation Office (OTC) has distributed throughout the community. In addition to offering free support in administrative procedures for energy communities, this entity also offers advice and training for all interested individuals and entities. Its objectives also include promoting the concept of energy communities so that the entire population can learn about this important figure in order to encourage the participation of Navarre society in the energy transition.
Third European Energy Communities Congress
Another initiative that the Department of Industry is working on to promote this concept is the third edition of the European Energy Communities Congress, which will be held on October 1 and 2 at the Navarra-Baluarte Conference Center in Pamplona/Iruña.
One of the most important topics at this year’s congress will be ‘one-stop shops’, a concept promoted by the European Union that involves opening single points of contact for citizens to provide comprehensive support for the energy transition in all sectors. Other topics will include demand management, energy communities in the industrial sector, and the social economy.
