Navarra held a series of eight public information sessions between 26 January and 5 February aimed at helping citizens adopt energy efficiency and decarbonisation measures in their homes and communities. The sessions took place in Lakuntza, Tudela, Tafalla, Estella-Lizarra, Aoiz-Agoitz, Santesteban / Doneztebe, Burlada / Burlata and Pamplona / Iruña, bringing together residents interested in learning about available tools and opportunities to advance towards a more sustainable energy model.
Under the slogan “Join the decarbonisation”, the in-person events provided practical information on public funding opportunities available in Navarra, including support for energy communities, boiler replacement schemes, tax deductions and Energy Saving Certificates (CAE). The sessions followed a practical and accessible approach designed to help citizens better understand and access these resources.
The initiative was part of the European project LIFE Plan4CET, which aims to support public administrations and citizens in planning and implementing actions linked to the clean energy transition. The programme was coordinated by the Directorate-General for Energy and Digital Transition, Business R&D&I and Entrepreneurship, together with the Navarrese project partners — the public company Nasuvinsa, Zabala Innovation and Pamplona City Council — with the participation of the Community Transformation Office (OTC Navarra).
The sessions also showcased awareness-raising initiatives developed in collaboration with the Network of Local Entities for Sustainability of Navarra (Red NELS). These included a climate action guide for citizens and a second outreach guide explaining Navarra’s energy transition, designed as a support tool for technical staff working in citizen advisory offices.
Positive outcomes and stronger connection with citizens
The initiative received positive feedback from participants, who highlighted the practical nature of the sessions and the usefulness of the information provided.
The events also helped introduce local reference offices and technical advisors in each area, strengthening the connection between public administration and citizens and facilitating access to specialised energy advice.
In addition, the sessions provided valuable insight into citizens’ level of awareness regarding available advisory offices, information-search methods and key issues related to the clean energy transition, helping to inform future outreach and support actions
