Energy planning on several levels

Sweden’s county administrative boards have received a governmental assignment to produce regional plans for electrification, and to support the development of local plans. Energimyndigheten, the Swedish Energy Agency, has published a new guidance to support the municipal processes.

Over the course of two days that focussed on energy planning amid rapid changes in the electricity system, personal of all energy offices in Sweden met to exchange experiences. Gustaf Wiklund of Energikontor Syd offered lectures and led panel discussions highlighting the needs and challenges of our owners, the southern Sweden municipalities. Panel discussion included Erik Särnholm, Head of Operations at LEKS (the County Administrative Boards’ Energy and Climate Coordination), Kristian Schoning, Analyst at the Swedish Energy Agency, Emelie Österqvist, Team Leader at Energikontoret Östergötland, and Gustaf Wiklund, Project Manager, Energikontor Syd.

Our work is enabled through financial support from the LIFE projects Plan4CET, RECET, and OwnYourSECAP. In the coming years Energikontor Syd will carry out additional efforts to support energy planning in the municipalities in Skåne, Kronoberg, Kalmar, and Blekinge counties. The support is provided within the framework of Own Your SECAP, Plan4CET, RECET, and EUCF, co-financed by the EU’s LIFE program.
